Naan generally, ribbon and, like pita, usually leavened with yeast or with starter breads (naan unleavened dough left over from a previous batch); yeast dough (similar to that used for bread) are also used. Naan is cooked in a tandoor, which tandoori cooking takes its name.

Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon butter (I mixed with a little chopped garlic)
- 1/2 cup parsley, wash and pat dry, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 2/3 tablespoon instant yeast
- The oil for frying
- More flour (to form a dough)
- Put the ingredients one by one as listed above. Use the settings to make the dough and wait. (Using the machine, it takes about 20 minutes) If you do not have a bread machine, combine flour, salt, yeast and sugar, add water and egg and parsley, knead the dough by hand for about 5 minutes. Then add the butter, knead until dough is smooth and supple.
- Allow the dough for about 45 minutes. Then flatten the dough.
- Take a handful of dough, flatten with a rolling pin or use your hands. Pour a little oil into the pan. Cook naan on medium heat until it bubbles, then behind baking it, then continue to cook until both sides of naan had brown spots. Serve while still warm with curry.
